Hello, I’m Craig
I run C. Williams Furniture, Restoration & Manufacturing, from my workshop in Bankfoot, about 8 miles north of Perth.
In my own words from the Yell listing: “We are a small business offering a professional and friendly service. Please feel free to phone for an estimate or just for some advice.” That still sums it up.

What I do
Four things, all by hand:
- Chair caning, bergère, rush and cord seating
- French polishing, traditional and modern
- Furniture repair and restoration
- Furniture making and cabinetry
What people bring me
Read my reviews and it’s family pieces: a grandfather’s table dropped by the removal men, a granny’s sewing machine, a nursery chair that needed re-caning, a table damaged in a flood.
Those are the jobs that matter.
A long line of Perthshire wrights

Between 1700 and 1840, more than six hundred wrights worked in and around the burgh of Perth. Same timber, same kind of joints, same patience.
The furniture that comes into my workshop is often from that tradition, or a cousin of it: a kist, a press, a settle, a set of dining chairs.
Want to ask me something?
Ring or text. I’m happy to give advice, even if it turns out you don’t need me.
